Guest Art: Where Inner Vision Meets Outer World

Self-figure and Tree Angel

“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.” Pablo Picasso

Welcome to my favorite part of Creative Awakenings: the profound, enlightening artwork created by the clients I am privileged to serve privately and in retreat.

Art always tells a story…it might be the artist’s vision of something in the outer world, a reflection of their inner being, a direct expression of experience, or some combination of all.

Regardless, it is both the process and products of art-making that support clients in safely expressing what cannot be said in words, or may be unknown to conscious awareness.  This allows for a gentle unfolding of difficult content that can open a dialogue with imagination and deep wisdom.  In this way, clients can connect with their own capacity to heal while envisioning a path forward.

The power and quality of all Creative Awakenings art continues to amaze and humble me. What moves me the most about all of the art I have facilitated is how this work inspires my clients with an understanding of their innate creative gifts. And, how they can use these gifts to inform their forward lives.

From Peg D., Creative Awakenings, Canyon Ranch:
(Left) Session I, (Right) Session II: “The Place I Dream About”

“I participated in Elizabeth’s Creative Awakenings workshop after beginning chemotherapy for aggressive breast cancer – my second time. With her help, I was able to break free of my fears and anger, and could allow the healing power of joyful creativity in. It was transformational and life-changing. Elizabeth, you are a FORCE! And you are a GIVER. Thank you for this amazing experience.”

The work made in private practice allows for clients to safely express whatever is calling, bringing it forward to conscious awareness. The resulting art provides ongoing insight, restoration and transformation.  A full range of materials allows for an experience of whatever is needed, moment by moment.

Awakenings Dreamwork: Connecting with Loved Ones who have Departed (click to view)

I am humbled to share these Loving Memory Boxes, which were created as part of my arts-based dreamwork program that supports guests in bringing forward dreams and experiences of loved ones no longer here.  They act as sacred containers as well and symbols, creating a bridge to a loving, comforting connection with spirit.

From Jodi H:
“Best workshop on creativity alive ever taken – Love Elizabeth!”

From Alison D:
“Loved it!  Came exactly at the right time…like it was meant to be – the Universe sending me the guidance I needed.  Elizabeth, you are fabulous!”

From Bernadette R:
“A surprisingly delightful experience!  Taking the best parts of my past into the future, but excited for a third chapter of my life – Thank you, Elizabeth – for your belief in us, your radiance and inspiration.  My favorite Irish word is ‘uamhnach’! Beyond ‘awesome!”
